The reception staff in the main were extremely helpful and accommodating, very cheerful and with a good knowledge of services and where and what to do in Darwin.Rooms were clean, tidy and well maintained with a good comfortable bed.Air conditioning was comfortable and quiet.
Restaurant meals were fairly basic and staff were helpful but not particularly professional. Some information in the guests folder needs to be updated particularly in relation to opening times of the restaurant for breakfast on weekends. With regard to the question below I would recommend the hotel to others on the basis of price and location but in my opinion it does not rate as a 4 star hotel.

Staff were friendly. Location handy for us.
Noise, noise, noise. We had a room opposite the lift and next to the service lift. People coming and going what seemed to be all night. We also had an old air conditioning unit which chugged on and off all night. Difficult to have a peaceful, restful night's sleep. Tried to change rooms but staff advised it would not be possible due to the hotel being booked out.

No advertised mini bar in my room. Rude and unhelpful service manager and very hard to understand when trying to settle my account. Unorthodox method of helping themselves to my bank account in bits & pieces with no courtesy call first (1 week after departure). No one at the 24hr reception when I checked out to settle my account in person. Very poor customer service, won't be staying here again!

Views of tropical gardens where fabulous, the room was air conditioned and brand-new. The location was incredible, not too far from Crocosaurus Cove.

Nothing other than it was only a twenty minute drive to work for me.
The hotel is out-dated and in poor condition. A piece of my wall just fell off on my first day there, it was under the window and it just fell off. One of the lights in my room was blown the entire week I stayed and even with this on it still would have been too dark in there. The whole place felt dingy, gloomy and dirty. The bathroom was full of rust and damp. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom and nothing to wedge the door open with to try and prevent the mirror getting steamed up. No room in the bathroom for hardly anything and same in the kitchenette area. The chairs were old and dirty, I didnt even want to sit on them and the bed linen looked like it hadnt been updated since the 70'S. My bar fridge had nothing in it apart from a jug of water until on my third or fourth day it was miraculously filled with mini-bar type stuff, although there were no prices for any of the stock. There was no room service available one night due to an event. I could go on but Im sure you get the idea and to top it off I had to pay upfront for my stay?

The obliging staff who ensured I had a room in an adjoining motel when , on arrival, they had no record of my booking. The satff told me that this was because they no longetr were doing business with Booked.net. I was not the only guest who found this problem when they arrived. Teh hotel found us alternate accommodation and ensured, in my case, that I could return there on the subsequent 2 nights I had booked.

Staff were very friendly, breakfasts were good value and there is plenty of it with agood selection.Hotel has been refurbed and room is quite neat and tidy. View from the 6 th floor is terrific and the beer is cold. They changed my room when I complained and showed them my bed bug bites.
Room 3 is infested with bedbugs and I have over 55 bites. I understand that they would be hard to stop coming in.

Clean rooms. Hotel happily put my frozen fish in the freezer.
Lots of noise. Walls and floors were too thin. People walking, talking, closing doors and just general actions kept me up. If you're a light sleeper I don't recommend.
